Relationships

Humans are wired for relationships. That is why many clients who want therapy often bring in their relational life to be addressed.

Whether you are single, dating, or married, intimate relationships are a cornerstone of the human experience. Finding relational wholeness can be difficult in our modern world of dating apps, and divorce. I am here to help you find and develop the type of relationship that is meaningful, enriching, and long lasting.

I offer specialized relationship help in the following areas:

Dating

Dating can be a challenge especially in the fast-pace life of the Bay Area. There is pressure to find the right person, disappointment with a relationship not working out, and feelings of insecurity that often accompany dating. You may also find yourself wondering why you keep dating the “wrong person,” or why you can’t find a good partner. This insecurity can also be compounded with modern dating that involves dating apps, “ghosting,” and navigating a digital platform. Here are ways I help client’s navigate dating:

  • Handling rejection
  • Understanding unhealthy dating habits
  • Dealing with toxic relationships

I help clients navigate the dating scene by providing a safe space for clients to process feelings and gain insight about their lives.  Often times, clients realize that their dating habits are intertwined with their mental health, and self-esteem. My hope is that clients learn to find and develop healthy intimate relationships that are satisfying and life-giving. In the process, my clients will not only find meaningful relationships but understand themselves in a deeper way.

Breakup Grief

Ending a relationship can be one of the painful experiences a person goes through. There is not only grief that has to do with loss but feelings of insecurity, guilt, and self-doubt. “Will I never find another partner?” “Will I die alone?” Where did I go wrong?” These are the questions you may be asking yourself as you pick up the pieces and move forward in life. If you find it challenging to move forward in life, I can help.

I provide a safe space for clients to share feelings and thoughts surrounding their breakup. I help clients navigate the loss by exploring ways to deal with adjusting without a partner. My clients will also be given the space to reflect on their relationship and ways that they can grow from it. Ultimately, I help my clients find hope in their future and show them that it is possible to move on and find love again.

While breakups are painful, it is also a time when self-reflection, growth, and understanding can develop. If you feel like you need help dealing with a break up, please contact me. You do not have to go through a breakup feeling hopeless and alone.

Premarital Counseling

Planning and preparing for a life together with your partner can be a big task. One of the best investments you can make into your marriage is premarital counseling. Doing premarital counseling will improve your chances of a satisfying and successful marriage.

As a certified Prepare and Enrich Facilitator I help my clients understand their relationship by identifying weaknesses, identifying potential differences, and facilitating conversations that will help couples prepare for a life together. We will cover topics ranging from personality differences, money management, time management, roles, expectations, and so much more. More importantly premarital counseling can identify potential problems in your marriage that can be addressed early on rather than later on in a marriage. Giving yourself the chance to go through premarital counseling can be the biggest investment you can make in your future life with your partner.
