You might be here because you’re ready to make a change — or at least thinking about it. Maybe you’re wondering what I’m like, how I work, or if this could actually help. Maybe no one even knows how much you’ve been carrying. But you’re here now — and that means something.
About Me
Hey, I’m Alex. I’m a second-generation Asian American therapist, raised in the Bay Area, and I work with people who are tired of holding it all together while quietly falling apart inside.
Since 2019, I’ve helped clients untangle the pressure, anxiety, and exhaustion that comes from trying to do life perfectly — especially when you're the one everyone else leans on. Most of my clients show up to work, hit their deadlines, check all the boxes, and still feel empty, anxious, or like they’re going through the motions. On the outside? They’re fine. On the inside? They’re overwhelmed, disconnected, and wondering if this is really it.
That’s where I come in. Therapy with me is real. It’s grounded, warm, and active. I don’t just sit back and nod — I show up, I reflect things you might not see yet, and I help you try new ways of showing up for yourself. Sometimes that means getting curious about your patterns. Other times it means calling out the survival strategies that used to work but are now just keeping you stuck.
You don’t need to be “bad enough” to get support. You just need to be tired of doing it all alone.
Here’s what we work on:
Quieting the mental noise and feeling more grounded
Setting boundaries that don’t come with a guilt hangover
Actually processing your past instead of avoiding it
Feeling more like yourself — not just a version of you others expect
What Therapy With Me Feels Like
Therapy with me is a mix of depth, honesty, and doing the actual work — not just talking in circles. I bring in tools and techniques from evidence-based approaches, but what matters just as much is how we use them together.
I use methods like:
Brainspotting
To help you access and release emotions that feel stuck — especially the ones that don’t respond to logic or words.
Parts Work (IFS)
To get to know the different parts of you — like the one that shuts down, the one that people-pleases, and the one that’s tired of it all — so they stop pulling you in different directions.
Somatic Awareness
Because stress lives in your body, not just your thoughts. We’ll tune into the physical side of anxiety, burnout, and trauma so you can actually release it.
But what’s it actually like to sit in a room with me?
It’s honest
I’ll name patterns, reflect things back, and sometimes challenge you — but always with care. You won’t have to guess what I’m thinking, and I won’t tiptoe around the truth if it’s something that can help you grow.
It’s open
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you walk in. You can come in mid-crisis, totally numb, or not sure what to say. You can cry, swear, shut down, open up — all of it is welcome. This is your space to be real.
It’s paced
Some weeks are deep dives, other weeks are slower. We go at your rhythm, but I’ll gently keep us moving. Change doesn’t happen in one big moment — it happens over time, through small shifts we practice together.
This isn’t surface-level support. It’s real, focused work. If you’re tired of just coping and are ready to start shifting — we’ll do that together.
Who I Work Best With
I work best with people who straddle multiple worlds — emotionally, culturally, or spiritually. Most of my clients fall into one or more of these groups:
Second-gen, bicultural, and AAPI adults navigating family expectations, guilt, shame, and the pressure to be the "good kid."
Tech workers and high-achievers who look successful but feel disconnected, burned out, or lost inside. You’re tired of always being "on," stuck in meetings, drowning in Slack, and wondering why none of it feels meaningful.
Men who are emotionally shut down, angry, or numb — and want something different but don’t know where to start. Maybe your partner wants you to try therapy because your relationship feels stuck. Or maybe you’re just tired of bottling everything up and pretending you’re fine when you’re not.
Christians from all walks — from Asian American churchgoers to evangelical believers to folks who are deconstructing or rethinking their faith. You want therapy that honors your values without judgment. You want to feel whole — emotionally, spiritually, and mentally — not torn between your faith and your healing.
People pleasers who say yes when they mean no, feel responsible for everyone else’s emotions, and secretly carry resentment, exhaustion, or guilt for having needs of their own.
Conflict-avoiders who would rather stay quiet than rock the boat, even when it means betraying their own needs.
Perfectionists who hold themselves to impossible standards and still feel like it’s never enough.
If that’s you — you’re not alone, and you’re not broken. These are the stories I know intimately, and the patterns I help people shift every day.
Tired of Holding It All In?
You’ve done the overthinking, the people-pleasing, the quiet suffering. You’ve read the books, tried the apps, and smiled through it all — but it still feels off. You’re not broken. You’re just done surviving.
If you’ve been holding it all in, waiting for the right moment to finally do something for yourself — this is it.
Therapy with me isn’t about surface-level fixes. It’s about real, lasting transformation.
Here’s what’s possible when we work together:
Feeling genuinely calm — not just pushing through the anxiety
Finally saying no without guilt (and meaning it)
Setting boundaries that actually stick
Healing from old wounds instead of carrying them around silently
Building relationships where you don’t have to perform to be loved
Feeling seen, steady, and more like you
